120119 A Poem is Not God

Marybeth Hicks, Jefferson Bethke, and teens against politicians.

Religion is man's attempt to reach God, but we cannot do the impossible. According to the Word of God, God reached down to humans through the man, Jesus Christ. All we have to do is to believe it. Too many people, especially those who profess to be Christian, throw out the baby with the bath water. One can do almost anything religiously, but does that bring a person closer to God? Does adopting a particular lifestyle indicate greater moral fortitude? Does following a defined standard make a person religious? (Apply these questions to any political, scientific, or popular belief. I once followed the ST:TOS religion...)

There are more than 30,000 verses in the Bible. How many do you know? How many has the average Christian read? How does anyone know what God thinks if that person does not know what He said? Most people operate on hearsay. They merely accept what they are told, and fail to search further. Man's adulteration of that Word does not interest me. God tells of Himself in a manual that contains as many different perspectives as possible. Here is one of hundreds of such verses in which God speaks of His Word. They all flow together in esoteric harmony and delightful symmetry. (Psalm 12:6; 2 Timothy 2:15)

"For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart." --Hebrews 4:12

The words of the Word are precise. Learn Greek, Hebrew, and Aramaic, because translators are human.
