Like the woman said, this is not for everyone. It takes work and caution, but you CAN avoid an ER visit.

121129 Better

I'm better and less stressed. The situation has not changed, but my attitude has. Now, I'm vacillating about whether to speak up or not. If I just hang on for four years more, then Emily will graduate, and the 'problem' will go away.

121126 Major Rant

This article is a symptom, but not the cause: I'm going to rant.

Since March of 2002, I have been actively homeschooling my children. The elder had just turned 8, and the younger was 3, almost 4. My children are well behaved, articulate, and educated. The elder graduated at 16, and at last report, had a 3.8 GPA in a STEM degree program while carrying a full load. She also works about 20 hours per week and has more friends than I can count. How has homeschooling failed her!? Yet, There are three people in my life who WILL NOT relent. They are after me continually to put the younger in public school, because surely, her mind is warped and damaged by homeschooling. She also has a keen mind, many friends, and does her best to control her impulses. (ADHD and LD complicate her life.) One of the naysayers is a relative, but the other two are in my fellowship. It is driving me to distraction! If I didn't love the Word so much, I would quit going to fellowship! It is THAT bad!

This is not the school she would have to attend, but the girls know people who go there or have already graduated from there. My elder did well. She is FINE. The younger is FINE. Why do people have to meddle?

121123 The Day After Thankfulness

Does any other country have a holiday like Thanksgiving? Maybe Sukkot? Sukkot, however, is celebrated by the scattered tribes, not just a single country. Other than those two, my limited knowledge doesn't call forth any other.

Thankfulness is an interesting position. When one is unthankful, nothing is right. There is no justice. Lack dominates. Greed takes hold of one's mind and bitterness invades. The scale may be large or small, but any amount of bitterness and greed can disrupt one's peace.

Allow the thankful heart to grow, and bitterness has to flee. It's amazing what a little change in attitude can do. It doesn't change circumstances, at least not right away, but it will change one's mental and physical responses to circumstance.

Proverbs 17:22
A merry heart doeth good like a medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones.

Thankfulness brings peace.

Philippians 4:6,7
Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Thankfulness is not the same as a Pollyanna attitude. Thankfulness acknowledges that something good does exist, and it leaves us in a better position to improve the not-so-good. Thankfulness reduces stress. Therefore, you can continue to work on improvements as needed, but be thankful for what you already have.

121122 Happy Thanksgiving

This holiday is one of my two favorite days. It started because a group of 'refugees' decided to be thankful instead of depressed. They had lost half their number to a mysterious disease or to exposure, but because some had survived for a year, they celebrated with thankfulness. Sounds like a good reason for a holiday!

Essential Oils: The Wasp Body Parts Were Under His Eyelid

I love reading these things. Yesterday, I heard a doctor exclaim that "heartburn is not a deficiency of Rolaids!" He advocated ending the cause, not treating the symptoms. That is why I seek natural remedies first.

121121 Hinoki

Hinoki essential oil comes from the Japanese cypress, Chamaecyparis obtusa, and is native to central Japan. Hinoki wood has a spicy, lemon scent, is light pinkish-brown in color, and is highly rot and insect resistant. Considered a very high quality timber and one of the “Five Sacred Trees of Kiso,” it has been used historically in building palaces, temples, shrines, baths, and traditional noh theatres. Hinoki's woody aroma has been known to energize and uplift the mind and may help calm and relax during brief periods of agitation.* (anecdotal)

I decided to try this oil, for some specific reason, but forgot what it was. Maybe, I need to try something involved with memory!

121113-2 Gray Day

For South Texas, 40F(4C) is kind of cool. This should go up to 60F(15C) this afternoon. Add to that thick clouds and humidity, and I had to start the heater. The snake, who had been roaming freely, is back in his cage. We haven't seen any mice for months, so he did his job. I figured that the population was depleted and bought him two pet store mice. As soon as he saw them, they were gone. That confirmed his hunger. I'll get more next week, if I don't find the trap I want. The trap needs to preserve them alive. Like the Cat in Red Dwarf, he likes his food to MOOVE!

I've been feeling lazy and stiff. Holiday foods don't help, so this morning I had bacon and eggs, with cheese. All that protein will energize me. Not everyone should eat as much protein as I need, but my intestines simply cannot process grains and legumes. For lunch, I'll have tuna salad, or perhaps shrimp gumbo, since it's 'cold'.

My toes hurt when it's cold, and it's time to cook.

121113 Thieves Essential Oil

For the cold and flu season, I am an authorized distributor of this product:

"Young Living’s Thieves essential oil blend was formulated based
on the historical account of four thieves in France who
protected themselves from the Black Plague with cloves,
rosemary, and other aromatics while robbing victims of the
killer disease. When captured, they were offered a lighter
sentence in exchange for their secret recipe. Young Living’s
proprietary Thieves oil blend includes clove, cinnamon bark,
rosemary, lemon, and Eucalyptus radiata and has been
specially blended to offer the same kind of defense. Thieves
has been university tested and found to be highly effective
against airborne bacteria."

121112 Bee Sting?

Saturday, I had a yard sale. It was sunny and warm, so the bees and all their friends were out and about. I felt something crawling up my leg under my pants, to I swatted it. OUCH! It stung me! Immediately, I went inside the house and applied Purification, a blend of various essential oils. Then, I alternated with Thieves to kill infection, and Wintergreen to sooth the itch. The creature I killed was black, rather than yellow, but it was crushed beyond recognition.

My leg itches, and the red dot has turned into a large red patch. The sting was two days ago, and the climax of the reaction seems to have passed. Three times per day, I apply the oils. At the very least, they make the wound feel better. Never before have I had this severe a reaction to any insect bite, but I feel confident that it is healing well.

121027 ¡Perdido!

That was the title of an episode in a telenovela I once watched. I thought the characters had exaggerated their panic. I don't know how I looked on the outside last night, but believe me, the inside panic was all there.

Have I told anyone lately that I live in the 7th largest city in the United States? Yep. It covers a bit of territory, and people are everywhere in it. At lunchtime, I left my 14yo in Hemisphere Park, which had been the site of the 1968 World's Fair. (I was there!) It still includes the Tower of the Americas, green spaces, and many pavilions. The park sits a few blocks from the Alamo and near the center of downtown with all its one-way streets and confusing traffic patterns. I gave her strict instructions to meet me at 8pm at the bus stop in front of the Henry B. Gonzalas Convention Center and to send me regular text messages.

The text messages consisted of one. After which, she didn't answer her phone. I circled the park several times. The young people had picked the wrong place and time to have their little costume party. Oktoberfest happened right next to the little gazebo they were using for the cosplay. On the plus side, she was dressed head to toe in bright red. After praying on the phone with my minister. he told me to contact the police. I did. A bicycle officer found me at the entrance, and three patrol cars circled the park.

I was shaking and could barely talk. This whole ordeal lasted two hours. It seemed like all night.

Her phone had died. Instead of calling me on another phone, she just waited. She went to the Convention Center and sat on the steps instead of at the bus stop, where I could have seen her. Because of the typical San Antonio nighttime activities, not to mention Oktoberfest, there was no parking. I had to keep circling Hemisphere Plaza. I put about 40 miles on my car just driving around the block!

Now, I feel as if I had overreacted. She was OK, and thought she was doing what I told her to do. Now what? I grounded her for not keeping her phone charged. She finds this all quite amusing. Moon and I cried our eyes out. *sigh* Teens.

121022 Work

Once again, I admit to not being a salesman. No matter, God provides. This month I have lost my distributorship, so my daughter's boyfriend has decided to buy Herbalife. Great timing, dude! We had a stockpile from last year, so I resold some of those to him.

Oh well, I'm thankful. He also used some oils yesterday, so maybe he'll become interested in them, too. His mom liked them, but hasn't bought any. Young Living also sells a weight loss shake, but I haven't tried it. I trust them more than I do the chemical-laden Herbalife products.

I've decided to look for a part time job close to home. This means I actually have to get up and go places. It would be nice if some place within walking distance determines that they need a shuffling old lady hanging around the place doing something physically slow. I'll let you know if anything happens.

121008-2 Whose Children?

This is not an isolated incident, and this has been happening with greater frequency in the last five years. In the last twelve months, in Texas alone, I have seen three different families affected! It has happened in other states, too. It is done quietly, in secret, and it never makes the news without some distortion.

"We live in a time where our very right to direct the care, custody, and control of our own children is being challenged...not because we are abusing or misusing that right, but because there are those who hold judicial and legislative positions that think they know what is best for our children." --THSC

Video and article.

Nothing riles me up faster than a threat to my children.

120929 Never Shop While Hungry

Yesterday, I went to Planet Fitness and hit the treadmill faster and further than I have since I joined. Today, I have no pain. In fact, I am moving much, much better than I was this time last year. It's not translating into weight loss, but I will definitely take the renewed health!

After Planet Fitness, I needed to stop by HEB to buy a new filter for my Pur filtration system. It was possible, I thought, to get a bite of food there for the trip home. After a workout, one is supposed to eat a few calories of protein within thirty minutes to promote the development of muscle mass. The trip home would take more than that.

Immediately inside of the entrance was a huge display of Thor, Iron Man, Captain America, and the Hulk. One had to make a detour to get around it. The display was easily eight feet long and seven feet high. A small TV played in the middle of it and a big sign proclaimed "Combo Loco!" in large, friendly letters. I stood transfixed for a few minutes considering the implications for my family. This changed everything!

Combo Loco coupons at HEB are free and usually posted by the item. This one had four coupons attached to it. Buy the movie, get $5 off. Get a four pack of Jollytime popcorn for free. Get an eight pack of Popsicles for free. Get your choice of a child's decorative plate, child's decorative bowl, or decorative tumbler for free. (I chose a tumbler for Agent.)

Did I mention that I was hungry? It took me fifteen minutes to get past that display. The movie and the popcorn were on the display, but I had to go to the freezer section to get the Popsicles. I forgot all about the filters and the protein snack and headed for the checkout. I got all that stuff for $14.95 + tax. It's a good price, but did I need it? Agent thinks so.

I didn't get the filters I needed.

I blame it on being hungry...

120929 Young Livine Essential Oils Work

Rheumetoid Arthritis is a painful inflammatory condition of the joints marked by swelling, thickening, and inflammation of the synovial membrane lining the joint.

To relieve pain: Dilute 5 drops of Pan Away in 1 teaspoon of a carrier oil, such as V6 Oil Complex or pure olive oil. Store in glass, and apply onto painful locations as needed. Pan Away soothes painful nerves and encourages tissues to heal naturally.

Here is a testimonial from someone who also used the quality products from Young Living.

120901 Barbara's Prompts

Which TV character, past or present, is most like you?

Dr. Rodney McKay is obnoxious, loud, self-centered, sometimes generous, at times brillant, but totally lacking in social acumen. He has to be right ALL the time as well as the center of attention. He acts like a hurt puppy, or a wounded bear, when anyone says anything against him. The only reason I am not exactly like this caracture of an immature super-genius rests in my adherence to the rightly-divided Word of God. (2 Timothy 2:15)

120808 The Difference Between 'Nazi' and 'Socialist'

... is merely the name of the one in charge.

Walter Williams published an article today that explains better than I ever did why people should be wake up and smell the politics! When I was studying history in high school, in the 1970s, I wondered why Hitler's government was put on one end of the political spectrum, and communism was placed at the other. They seemed to be the same system to me. As a teen, I went to the library and spent months, even years studying political systems. Recently, I looked into Plato's Republic and More's Utopia. Socialism relies on the same system, repackaged and revamped into something that continues to be the opposite of freedom!

Nazism is condemned, but Socialism is exalted. Why? Twentieth Century Socialism killed far more people than Nazism ever thought of eliminating, They are the same political system! It doesn't make sense, but the last stronghold against what Marx taught is starting to embrace it. Wake up, America! It's not that better people need to run the system; the system itself is wrong.  People want it to be something warm and fuzzy, but in practice, people are selfish and/or evil. The warm fuzzies never arrive.

I prefer freedom.

120723 Room Temperature

What is room temperature? I read things like “keep at room temperature” or “safe at room temperature” or “solid at room temperature”.

I have to ask myself, “Whose room are we discussing?”

When I lived in Alaska, room temperatures were somewhere between 60F and 70F. Some hardy folk let it drop into the 50s, simply because they lived on a boat or in an Eskimo lodge.

Now, I live in South Texas. What we call ‘a cool early morning breeze’ would be oppressively over-the-top summer temperatures for Alaskans. What we call ‘room temperature’ would be stifling. My jar of coconut oil says, “solid at room temperatures”.

Again I ask, “Whose room are we discussing?”

I took the jar out of the refrigerator and left it on the counter for a couple of hours. It is completely liquid. Whomever decided what ‘room temperature’ was, didn’t live in South Texas.

120625 Back

I was gone for two weeks. I did not post the actual physical departure, because it was not necessary for the world to know that my teens were home alone. The 18yo had her job, and the 14yo had a mature guardian, but the entire Internet community didn't need to know that Mom had left the building. Mom has returned.

For two weeks, I have been taking a class known as The Advanced Class on the Way of Abundance and Power. It was the final portion of a three part series that took years to complete. Jesus Christ said that he was the way, the truth, and the life, and that no one came to the Father, but by him. Kind of puts a kink in the 'many roads' interpretation of salvation. Well, believe what you will. We'll all find out in the end.

What I really like about this class series is how one is shown principles from God's Word. We have power. We don't have to be doormats. We can be confident, polite, loving, and most of all: completely sure of what God says. God gave us power, more power than most Christians will admit. Evil trembles as the one who believes approaches. Who can be stronger than the True God?

The first night, a man from Togo, in Africa, ministered healing to my knee. I no longer walk with a cane. This wasn't one of the showy fake healings that one can see on TV. No. After the first teaching, which was on the subject of the accuracy of the Word, he asked me in private why I used a cane. Then, he prayed and asked God to fulfill His promise of healing for me.

I was ready. The pain completely disappeared. The swelling left. The muscles and ligaments worked again. Many were blessed. There were many more stories of deliverance. The most impressive to me were the sad people who learned to smile. Two girls in particular came looking like waifs, and left as confident women. One claimed a physical healing, but did not elaborate

.

I don't care who believes me, (that's between you and God), but I know that signs, wonders, and miracles followed us. My life has moved up a notch.

120528 Memorial Day Surprise

This holiday is always hard for me. So it was a double whammy for find this:

My mom had left a large box of sewing supplies that I had not completely emptied in the years since she died. This plaque was hidden between some folds of cloth. My brother was Mom's favorite. Not even my dad knew about this plaque. Has it been wrapped in that cloth since the day he died? He is forever 32; he has been 32 for thirty-six years.

120523 Scary Stuff

This kind of stuff disturbs me! Before my parents moved us to KCTX, I lived in a racially charged area where I was THE ONLY blond child in the entire school. The president sets the emotional tone for the country, and since 2008, I have been having flashbacks!
jewishworldreview.com
Walter Williams

My parents moved to KCTX when I was 12, and life improved greatly. Where we lived before that had race problems, with demonstrations and violence. My sister and I were hit weekly, and threatened daily. When I tried to tell adults that it wasn't my fault, they either called me a troublemaker or told me to stand up for myself. How could an Anglo be without power in the face of all these underpriviledged minorities? In fifth and sixth grades, I walked six blocks out of my way to avoid going near a certain group of boys.

Whenever the president speaks about race, or whenever I read about someone blaming whites (or Asians) for all the other minorities ills, I want to scream that it is NOT one-sided. Can't they see the evidence? Why don't they acknowledge the facts? Why is race mentioned ONLY when a 'white' person does the crime?

I do not judge by skin tone, because people of all shades have hurt me. With a race-baiting president, however, and his enablers in the media, I trust only my closest friends.

Blah.

I'd rather have boring, so I deleted it.

120423 High.

Since my first exposure to the Word rightly-divided (2 Timothy 2:15), I have been able to reach astounding heights of peace and joy. The weekend just passed was one of those many times where I felt the world lose its evil power over my life, and my heart sang.

This month, I co-authored a play. Yesterday, a group of us performed it as part of a series of seven short plays. It was exhilarating! Our goal was to bless people, and we did. Moon played a karate instructor. (...a real stretch...) She may have caught the ‘acting bug’. Although each group was told to use the same theme, no two plays were alike. They blended together beautifully.

This weekend was our time to ‘fill up’ on the Word. The world is so negative and depressing, that the greatest truths can get lost in its abysmal seas. When Pontius Pilot asked, “What is truth?” it was not an original statement. What makes people think that it is an original statement two thousand years later? Technology aside, children always feel that they have learned lessons their parents missed, but they are only repeating what their grandparents or great-grandparents had learned a century earlier. Philosophies go in cycles, but Man himself doesn’t change. Only individuals change. Then the cycle continues. The Book of Judges demonstrates this, and it was written three thousand years ago about the events of 300 years before that!

What do we believe? What can we believe? Believe what you will, for we all have different needs. God satisfies our needs right where we are. For instance, everything has to make sense to me. I grew up with personal, first-hand experiences that confirmed that spirits existed, so that had to be explained. I had to know that there was more to life than pain and death. I had to have sound scientific answers to various questions.

True science and God’s Word rightly-divided match. For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. --Hebrews 4:12

I’ve been told that the joints and marrow cannot be separated, except maybe cell by cell, which can’t be done by man without killing the cells. God designed it, so he knows how to do it, and the Word that He revealed is more precise than the latest mass spectrometer. Man changes things, so the Word has to be hunted down and pursued, hence the Keys to Biblical Research classes we teach.

Somehow, this pursuit causes endorphins to be released. (3 John 2) We get blessed and blessed again as the energy heals us all. My knee didn’t hurt while I was there. It works better today. Our particular play ended with this sprightly chorus:

We are all members of the Body of Christ, (1 Corinthians 12:27)
Sons of God with birth rights; (1 John 3:1,2)
We are Chosen Gems, (Ephesians 1:4)
Polished by God and His Word; (1 Peter 2:4-9)
We are beautiful in God’s sight (Romans 10:15)
.

Sometimes, people wonder why certain Christians are so happy. I just told why we are. It takes real effort to remain depressed when you have the Creator of the Universe and all His power on your side. The sad part comes when they think that joy is some sort of mental failing.

120420 Today's Blah

My daughter blogs.

The Legend of Me

An exhilarating tale of friendship and conquest.

She writes well. Several years ago, she wrote some fantasy short stories while I was taking a few college level writing classes. I intended to write professionally, and accomplished that goal. It didn't, and still doesn't pay well. Her father read the stories, and made some disparaging comments that crushed her spirit. How appalling! He never wrote more than what was required by basic necessity or coercion, (school).  By the age of 40, he had written two letters, some papers in high school, and a number of short incident reports.

He claimed that as a reader, he should be able to criticize another person's writing. Yes, and no. A reader can say that he likes or dislikes something, but fails to give constructive criticism until he knows how to write something himself. Combining words on a page takes effort. A mere reader is not that helpful to a beginning writer. I tried to tell her that she was young and still learning, but she quit writing stories.

My daughter blogs, and it is good for her. She does well with writing projects at college, so maybe someday she will write fiction again. I don't read much fiction anymore. Maybe, I feel that all the stories have been written, though it hasn't stopped me from writing more of them. I just don't read anything new. When I looked at all the books I have read in the last year, they were almost all non-fiction. If Moon wrote fiction, however, I'd read that.

120415 Praise and Unpraise

My last post praised Moon. Friday night, she breezily asked me to get two books from the library. I said that it would be rather difficult for me to do that. Well, as it turned out, I could not get to the library. I wasn't in SA; I spent Saturday 65 miles from the city, and made it back into town after libraries closed. Sunday, I was a mere 20 miles from the library, but returned an hour after closing.

When she returned, I was still in another town. When I came in, she asked for the books, so I asked her when her paper was due.

"Tomorrow", she said.
"When was it assigned?"
"A while ago."
"???"

She had gone out for hours with friends one weekday last week. She had gone to the movies two or three times in the past few weeks. She spend last weekend home alone, but had use of a car and her library card. Why didn't she get those books then? Why is she blaming me for losing 20% of her grade? Why is a college student asking her mom to do her leg work for her? Why did she stop doing her share of work around the house?

Well, I spent the last two weekends with Agent. It was a change we both enjoyed.

120413 Updates

• Moon will be testing for her second black belt this weekend. She and the usual suspects will be traveling today and spending the weekend in La. Sensei will retrieve her after classes to take her there. I told her to kick someone for me.
• My leg is worse, and I can barely walk. I’m tempted to get crutches, because with them I can move a lot faster. Maybe I should have stayed home last weekend.
• Agent talks a lot, but doesn’t say much.
• Should I continue with starting a business? Should I work for someone else? The After School Club summer program has been cancelled. Plan and decide. Decide and plan.
• Should I quit blogging and other online associations? I could be spending my time quite differently without the Internet…

120409 When We Go

I have come to the conclusion that most of the young people in college in this country are brainwashed against the Constitution. With rare exception, the ones I encounter either in person or online believe that self-determination is some kind of evil. I just watched the original Star Trek episode called, "The Menagerie". I've seen just "The Cage", too. The Talosian line, "You will now live carefully directed lives." comes to mind when politicians speak.

Saturday, a young woman was yelling to me about 'reproductive rights'. I wanted to shout back that she already had reproductive rights. No one in this country had the power to stop her from exercising her rights either to have a child or not, because birth control and even abortion is legal. In China, it is illegal to have more than one child, so sometimes, abortions are forced or newborns are killed there. In this country, a woman can have as many children as she physically can, or none at all. Abstinence costs nothing, but Trojans cost about 53 cents apiece. (Even *I* could afford Trojans!)  What this girl wanted was to have someone else pay for her birth control, which was probably not the inexpensive Trojans.

"Do as I say, not as I do!" is the cry of a hypocrite. How much of our internal conflicts makes it outside? I know that almost everything from other countries is censored (absent) here. We have a set of documents that used to be taught to every citizen. Even by the 1960s and 70s, our own citizens were forgetting why they were important. By the 1980s, Civics classes disappeared from high school. I have heard Europeans and Canadians ask why so many don't agree to Socialized Medicine, or why do we love our guns so much?. It's that pesky Constitution and the Bill of Rights.

The things that make it to our national news services are only those things that the media, the New Yorkers want people to hear. They ignore vast amounts of events, simply because those things do not follow their philosophies. Did you know that ALL of the national news services are in New York City? ALL OF THEM! New York is not the whole USA. What may work in New York, doesn't work in Texas, or Iowa, or Arizona. Only white crime is 'news worthy', not the much more prevalent black on black, or black on white rape, murder, and torture events that plague our nation. Asians are constantly attacked by non-whites, but that doesn't make it to the news programs.

What is in our founding documents?
1. The Supreme Court is supposed to test the constitutionality of the laws that Congress passes. Contrary to what Obama claims, it is their JOB. Congress may be influenced to do things the Constitution does not allow, so the Supreme Courts them and repels bad laws.
2. The President does NOT make laws. He can only sign or not sign them into being. The legislature (Congress) and the Supreme Court are supposed to restrict his actions. George Bush the First over-stepped his authority in 1990, and every president since has done the same or worse!
3. There are bad people who need to be retrained, but most people choose to do good. That is why one of the first things written in our founding document concerned our unalienable rights to "life, liberty, and the pursuit (not the guarantee) of happiness."

Chocolate is not a right; playgrounds are not a right; automobiles are not a right; air conditioning is not a right; music is not a right, and healthcare is not a right!  The United States government is not required by the Constitution to provide any of that! Those who think government needs to pay for their medical care should emigrate to Canada or Europe. Before Obamacare, we already had universal access to healthcare. It may have been expensive, but it was available. With Obamacare, access may disappear. My own doctor decided to retire early when it was passed. Now, I don't have a doctor. How's that for access?

120327 Three Year Old Pictures

Moon posted. She reveals herself this way. Mrs. Sensei seems to be everything Sensei is not. He is expressive and open, while she is private and protective. She asked Moon to remove a picture from her Facebook album. I gave Mrs Sensei the 'like' button for that. I have asked Moon to remove items, to conceal items, to stop playing "that awful music"! (Bread) I tried to be sensitive about it, because I knew that she was hurting, too.

The picture was of Sensei giving an award to a certain young woman. When that picture was taken, it was the best of times. She had been Moon's best friend and a leader among her peers. At the end of 2008, we had no inkling of what was going to play out in the next two years. Moon says that in her heart and mind, that girl died. She loves her still, but considers the creature that took her place to be a doppelganger. The same doppelganger took her dad, too.

I know the girl exists. I accidentally saw her on the street about a year ago. She turned away, maybe because she was the one who actually made and planted the bombs. She knows that I know that. She, however, is 'free'. She got probation only, and continues with her life. Such is the way of 'justice'.

I don't have to worry about it. Worldly justice can do its own thing.

120324 Sometimes I Grump

Sometimes, I wish I could stop grumping through life. Illogic happens, and happens again and again. Politics, for instance, twist my gut with the deviousness of politicians and the idiocy of the masses. We have (had) freedom, but the people want safety instead*. Many people have traced the pattern of descent, but few can do anything about it, except educate. Who listens? Most see the beginning as a few seemingly innocuous bills passed when the 20th century started. Utah is attempting to repeal one of them now. The federal government owns quite a bit of land that should belong to the states, or even to private citizens. Most people don't know that there is more vacant land in North America than on any other continent in the world. Consider how huge Asia is. Think about Africa. Those places are well populated. Even South America is populated, but North America has empty space, because the government owns it and prevents anyone from occupying it.

<expletive deleted> EPA prevents people from occupying their own legally obtained land. Because a previous owner had dug a hole to catch rain water for livestock, the property I used to own was considered a 'wetland area', making it illegal for me to fill in the hole. That is how ridiculous the EPA is. No one can fill a hole without filing an environmental impact statement!

*1 Thessalonians 5:3
"For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape."

“Those who desire to give up freedom in order to gain security will not have, nor do they deserve, either one.”

120312 Danger, Will Robinson, Danger!

Pain level 6. Anger mode initiated.

It is illegal for me to smash rude people with my cane, so I'm going to release my ire on some innocent weeds and frightened dust bunnies instead. This avoids the Vogons, but does nothing for the torn muscle.
