150320 Essential Oil "Morphine Bomb"

No, there are no opiates in it. For the last few days, I felt like seeping garbage. I probably smell funny, too. A week or so ago, I bragged that I hadn't had so much as a cold for years, and guess what? I have a cold, or a flu, or the creeping crud. I am feeling like nine-day-old vomit that the dog won't touch. Why is it that a cold feels so much worse than a near-death experience?

Last week, a friend asked me about the "Morphine Bomb". It was all over Facebook for awhile. Essential oil people claim that it alleviates pain. I made one for Moon, and she said her migraine left. Then that Mack Truck hit me...

I was laying in bed wondering if I could possibly feel any worse when I realized that the oils I used on Moon were still on the counter.

Five drops each into a gelatin capsule makes a pain-killing combo that also makes me happy. I wonder if this stuff is addictive? My sinus cavities are still stuffed and draining out the back, so my throat is still scratchy, but the pain is gone. Did I mention that it also made me happy?

It's not cheap; it costs about $5 a dose, but compared to chemical meds, it's a bargain! These three bottles together cost $240.00 and make about 50 capsules. In come cases, money CAN buy happiness. In additions to certain other properties, Frankincense is a mood lifter. ;)

141027 Bumps and Bruises

Saturday was Estella's wedding shower. I baked a cake and made name tags. In my excitement, I attempted the stairs without my walker, and fell. My ankle swelled to half again its size, and my knees became loose and painful again.

Determined not to miss the shower, I rubbed Pan Away on everything. I took oils with me and applied them occasionally. I stayed off my feet as often as possible.

Sunday, I could get by with the cane. Today, the swelling in gone, and the pain is only in the plantar fasiitis. Even the latter is greatly diminished from what it was three weeks ago. This is why I love the oils. They remove both the symptoms as well as the causes of my pains.

140718 Toothpaste

Ten years ago, The Farmer's Almanac published a toothpaste recipe I liked, so I started using the baking soda compound with essential oils. When I became involved with Young Living, I used their oils.

Across the web, there are a few pages that tout the benefits of homemade toothpaste for healing teeth.

My teeth hurt, and the dentist hasn't seen my smile for a decade. I certainly don't have the funds to have him repair what I suspect is wrong.

Not long ago, I ran across this article: How to Naturally Reverse Cavities and Heal Tooth Decay. I don't know if I mentioned it in an earlier post, but it became necessary to review the materials again. I slipped off the diet, and my mouth hurts terribly. Pulling oil with two drops of Clove essential oil in it relieved the pain until mealtime. Then the pain returned. Until it quits entirely, I shall be pulling oil every morning, avoiding all grains and processed foods, drinking only water, and using homemade toothpaste three times per day.

I altered the healing recipe to suit myself:

2 Tablespoons Coconut Oil
2 Tablespoons Baking Soda
1/8 teaspoon Stevia
10 drops of Young Living Thieves Essential oil
1 crushed calcium tablet (chosen for its ability to dissolve in vinegar)

This is about a week's supply, so make it and store in an opaque container, or in brown glass to protect from sunlight.

140526 It Will Hit Me on Friday

Awhile back, when I was a teen or young adult, lawmakers decided that it was easier to celebrate all holidays on Monday, rather than on random days of the week. The exceptions were Independence day, a.k.a. "The Fourth of July", Christmas, New Year's Day, and other holidays that were absolutely tied to a specific day of the week, such as those held on Sunday or that one designated as the fourth Thursday in November. (Thanksgiving is one of my personal favorites.)

Memorial Day has been the last Monday in May for decades. Today, people all over the country see today as the beginning of summer, as the day to have roasted hot dogs, picnics, and parties. This weekend, many family trips have started in a race to visit national monuments or to experience the great outdoors. For more than half my life, it has been celebrated on some day other than May 30th, but it is still May 30th when it hits me.

On March 13, 1976, my brother died while serving in the USAF. May 30th is when I mourn his passing.

120312 Danger, Will Robinson, Danger!

Pain level 6. Anger mode initiated.

It is illegal for me to smash rude people with my cane, so I'm going to release my ire on some innocent weeds and frightened dust bunnies instead. This avoids the Vogons, but does nothing for the torn muscle.

120127 The Nights of Knee

The more I read about ACL, the more depressed I get. Nothing can be done about it. It popped. It has popped many times since that catastrophic skiing accident in 1980, and I have neither the insurance, nor the wads of cash needed to correct it surgically. I have to trust God. Pan Away is the oil blend that should help, but I'm not sure that I apply it in the most beneficial way. Exercise helps, but two weeks have passed since I have had the time and/or transportation to visit the gym.

I don't want to be crippled. I become way to crabby about the pain. I want to walk normally again. Let me be strong and pain-free.
